Grinder for roasteries · Science Brewing, Halmstad
Know who is running out before they do
In short: you buy Science Brewing Grinder at a partner price and place it with your café customers, at a price you set yourselves. You see stock and consumption per customer, get alerts before the coffee runs out, and are the café’s first point of contact. This is a tool for your customer relationship, not a grinder for you.
Answers to questions you guess at today
Who uses how much?
Every grind at the customer is logged and deducted from the customer’s stock of your roasted coffee.
Who is about to run out?
You get an alert when a customer’s stock passes a low and a critical level, and a weekly email report covering all your customers.
Who has stopped ordering?
A customer who keeps grinding but stops ordering is buying their coffee somewhere else. It shows in consumption before it shows in your sales.
How it works
| You buy | Grinder at a partner price. You sell or rent it to your customers at the price you set. |
| The café gets | A grinder that grinds to weight and stops by itself, with profiles for your coffee. About Grinder |
| You see | Your customers in the roastery portal: roasted coffee stock, consumption, alerts and deliveries per customer. |
| You do | Record deliveries, invite customers and change the customer’s profiles remotely — name, weight and times. You also send along which grind setting the customer should use. It is shown on the grinder’s screen, and the customer sets the burrs accordingly. |
| The café knows | That consumption is shared with you. The café should always be told. |
Do the maths
Use your own numbers. Nothing is sent anywhere — the calculator runs in your browser.
Fill in the fields and the calculator does the rest.
Number of customers, coffee per week and contribution margin are filled in as examples — replace them with your own. The grinders count once. The coffee counts per year, over 52 weeks. The calculator shows what the placed customers are worth — not how much of it is new.
Three steps with the same customer
| Step | The café | You earn from |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gets a Grinder placed by you | Loyalty and consumption data |
| 2 | Keeps buying your roasted coffee | As today, but with deliveries that arrive on time |
| 3 | Buys a roaster of its own | Green coffee and roast profiles instead of roasted coffee |
Step 3, in plain words
The day a customer starts roasting themselves, you change the type of income and keep the customer.
- Your profiles, locked. You create roast profiles for your coffee. The customer roasts with them but cannot see or change them. Your know-how stays with you.
- The green coffee goes through us, and you get a share. The customer buys the green coffee from Science Brewing, and you are paid for every order. The terms are in the partner agreement.
- No lock-in. The customer is free to buy a roaster. The idea is that they then keep buying your coffee and running your profiles.
Who does what

This is not for you if
- You do not sell to cafés or restaurants
- Your customers buy coffee in shops rather than in volume
- You do not want customers to know that consumption is shared with you

Frequently asked questions
What is the partner price?
It is in the quote. Contact us and we will work out your case.
Does the café know consumption is shared?
Yes, it should always be told. It is the right thing to do, and it means the data never comes as a surprise.
Who owns the data?
The data is held by Science Brewing. You get access to the grinders you have placed, and the café sees its own consumption.
What happens if the customer buys a roaster?
You change the type of income: from roasted coffee to green coffee and profiles. Your profiles are locked for the customer, and you are paid for the green coffee the customer buys through us.
Can we set the grind remotely?
Not the burrs — they are set by hand at the customer. You change the profiles’ names, weights and times, and send along which grind setting the customer should use. It is shown on the grinder’s screen.
What do we do if a grinder breaks?
You troubleshoot first, remotely. If a part or the whole grinder needs replacing, we take over.
