1. Who you are buying from

Equipment is priced excluding VAT, because it is mainly sold to businesses. Green and roasted coffee is shown including VAT. The rate follows the goods: 25 per cent on equipment, 6 per cent on coffee. The checkout always shows the amount you pay.

2. Private customer or company

We sell to both private customers and companies. You choose which in the checkout. Companies fill in company name and registration number.

The terms differ: section 6 applies to private customers, section 7 to companies. The rest applies to everyone.

3. Order and agreement

The agreement is concluded when we confirm your order by email. We may decline an order, for example if the price is obviously wrong or if we judge that the machine does not suit your premises. In that case we refund the full amount.

4. Payment

Late payment interest is charged under the Swedish Interest Act, plus the statutory reminder fee.

5. Delivery

Delivery times are estimates. If a delivery is significantly delayed we will tell you, and you can cancel at no cost. Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods are handed over.

Check the packaging on arrival. If it is damaged, report it to the carrier immediately and contact us the same day.

6. Private customers

Right of withdrawal

You have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase, counted from when you received the goods, under the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act. It covers the machines too. Tell us at hello@sciencebrewing.com before the deadline — you may use the standard withdrawal form, but a clear message is enough.

Two exceptions

• Coffee with opened packaging. Green and roasted coffee is food and is sealed for hygiene reasons. Unopened packaging can always be returned. Once the packaging is opened, there is no right of withdrawal.
• Grinder, base platform only. It is built to the grinder model you state when ordering, and is therefore made to your specification. The right of withdrawal does not apply. Standard and Silent, which are not customised, carry the full right of withdrawal.

Returns

You pay the return shipping and are responsible for the goods arriving undamaged. Use the original packaging. You may handle the goods as you would in a shop; if the value has dropped because you used them more than that, we deduct for the reduction in value. We refund within 14 days of receiving the return, or of a trackable proof that it has been sent.

Complaints

Three years to complain under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act. Faults that appear within two years are presumed to have existed at delivery unless shown otherwise. Complain within a reasonable time of discovering the fault; within two months always counts as reasonable.

If we cannot agree

We follow the recommendations of the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, arn.se. You can also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/odr.

7. Companies

No right of withdrawal

The Distance Contracts Act does not cover business purchases, so there is no right of withdrawal. If you cancel an order that has already gone into production, we charge the costs incurred up to that point.

Warranty

Two-year warranty on Science Brewing Roaster and Science Brewing Grinder, counted from delivery. The warranty covers faults in materials and workmanship. It does not cover wear parts, consumables in the smoke cleaning, incorrect use, external damage or work carried out by anyone other than us. We choose whether to repair, replace or credit.

Faults and delays

The Swedish Sale of Goods Act applies otherwise. Complain in writing as soon as the fault is discovered. If a delay is our fault, you may cancel the purchase after a written reminder and a reasonable additional period.

Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of the goods. We do not compensate lost profit, production losses or other indirect damage. The limitation does not apply in case of gross negligence or intent.

8. Support, spare parts and software

Support and spare parts come from Halmstad. Software updates are delivered over the network and are included.

The machine needs wifi to start a new roast; a roast already under way always finishes. We may change or add features in the app, and individual features can be retired — but never so that the machine stops roasting the profiles you already use. If a service is discontinued, we give notice in good time.

Registering with your local food authority is up to you. The food safety plan template that is included is the basis for it.

9. Personal data

We process personal data according to our privacy policy. Order data is kept for as long as Swedish accounting law requires.

10. Force majeure and disputes

We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as interruptions in transport, failed deliveries from subcontractors, industrial action or decisions by public authorities.

Swedish law applies. Disputes that are not settled amicably are heard by a general court, with Halmstad District Court as the first instance, unless mandatory rules say otherwise. For private customers, ARN and the ODR platform apply under section 6.
