Coffee is the last thing on the menu that isn’t yours

You already make everything else yourselves. The bread, the stocks, the ice cream.

Your own roastery wherever there is a free 10 A circuit. Compact, single-phase 230 V with a current limit adjustable from 8 to 16 A, smoke cleaning without an afterburner, no chimney. A food safety plan template for coffee roasteries is included, in Swedish — registering with your local food authority is up to you.

Do you recognise this?

You make everything else yourselves

The bread, the stocks, perhaps the ice cream. The coffee comes in a bag from someone else, and nobody in the kitchen has decided how it tastes.

Coffee is the last impression guests take with them

After a menu you built yourselves, the meal ends with the only product you bought ready-made.

You have wanted to, but thought it needed a roastery

A roastery project means a chimney, a duct and planning questions. This is a benchtop machine on a dedicated 10 A circuit.

Freshly roasted, from your own machine.

How it works for you

Green coffee in the hopper. The machine does the rest.
Where it goesIn the dining room, in the kitchen or in a spot of its own nearby. 70 × 30 cm of counter space, 40 cm high, about 30 kg. Seeing and smelling coffee being roasted on site is an experience. The machine works in front of guests — just bear in mind that it makes noise and gives off aroma at times. An alternative is to give it its own accessible spot where it really stands out.
What it needsA dedicated 10 A circuit on standard 230 V. No chimney, no duct, no drain. Wi-Fi.
Who does whatWhoever opens up fills the hopper and scans the QR code. The roast takes care of itself while the kitchen gets on with other things.
How much it makes1.2 kg of green coffee per batch in about a quarter of an hour at 10 A, so 4.8 kg an hour. A lunch restaurant covers its weekly need in a couple of sessions.

Do the maths

Count the cups you serve, not the kilos. Batch brew for lunch guests and espresso after dinner are different volumes, and it is the sum of them that decides whether it pays.

Use your own numbers: what you pay per kilo today, how many kilos you use per month, and what you would charge for a bag over the counter. The calculator on the home page does the rest and shows the result straight away — no form before the answer.

Proof: Pio Restaurang

Tobias Granelund at Pio Restaurang has run the roaster both in front of guests at lunch and in another part of the premises. Together we have developed new functions, processes and routines. The result: better coffee and a unique experience, at the same price as before.

Compare before you decide

Installation and technical requirements

Circuit, dimensions, clearances, water and network, with what we have not measured spelled out.

This is not for you if

  • Your brewing equipment is on loan against volume from your coffee supplier
  • You pay less than about €14 per kilo today
  • The kitchen has no free circuit and the landlord says no to a new one
  • You serve coffee to only a few guests a day

If any of the above applies to you, say so in the form. We would rather say no early than sell a machine that ends up unused.

Frequently asked questions

Does it take up space in the kitchen?

70 × 30 cm of counter space and about 30 cm clear on the left-hand side while running. It takes up less space than an espresso machine, but it needs a circuit of its own.

Does it get warm?

Without a duct, almost all the electricity stays in the room as heat. A 1.8 kW machine heats like a radiator. In a kitchen with working ventilation you barely notice; in a small storeroom you notice a lot.

Can we roast at night?

The machine is built for unattended operation and can be started from the app. Two things still decide: what we say and what your insurer accepts. Ask both.

Do we need to register with the authorities?

Yes. Roasting is food production and is notified as a change to an existing food business, to your local food authority. A food safety plan template is included, in Swedish — the registration is up to you.

Will it work for you?

Tell us what you run and how you buy coffee today. We will tell you what the machine needs from your premises and what it costs — including when the answer is that it does not pay off.
